llah s.w.t entrusted upon us the human being the role of Khalifah, and not without any assistance, He equipped us with the tools, the technologies and the infrastructure. The infrastructure, the technologies and the tools are inferred from the word Qalam, mentioned in the first surah revealed to the Prophet (Peace Be Upon Him) and humans. The functionality of Qalam is operationally interpreted to be of what a computer could also do. Qalam as mentioned in the first surah revealed by Allah s.w.t to humankind could be translated into a tool that is able to write, store, share and disseminate data, information, knowledge and wisdom. The first word in that surah, i.e. iqra’ which means read, could be well presumed that the first task assigned to our Prophet Muhammad (Peace Be Upon Him) and the ummah is to acquire knowledge.
